ABOUT

With a foundation in hospitality design, Jennifer Starck’s career includes design, purchasing, contract negotiations, and product sales with many of the world’s leading hotels and resorts. Jennifer has a deep understanding of the design & procurement process, and a strategic, solutions focused approach.

 

Jennifer began her career in the hospitality industry as an interior designer with HVS Design.  She later joined Benjamin West on the project management side and immediately took a hands-on approach in the FF&E procurement of highly acclaimed hotels and resorts.  Recognized for her commitment to excellence and ability to effectively manage even the most complex and high profile projects, Jennifer was promoted to the position of Strategic Account Manager and later promoted to the role of Director, North America, reporting directly to the President of Benjamin West, and having the responsibility of overseeing key client relationships and overall sales activities for North America.  Jennifer joined Contract Decor International (CDI) in 2013 and served as their Vice President of Sales and Marketing, educating clients on the intricacies of window treatment design as well as managing all sales representatives in North America, doubling sales volume while increasing the company’s customer base. Jennifer founded Root Source in 2017, allowing her to utilize her skill set to assist purchasing agents, interior designers, and ownership companies with a broad range of hospitality needs.  

 

Jennifer's experience as an interior designer, purchasing agent, and manufacturer allows her to uniquely analyze projects in their entirety from a variety of perspectives.   

Jennifer’s professional affiliations and accreditations include; past member of International Society of Hospitality Purchasers (ISHP), an organization that works with the industry’s leading vendors and design firms to raise the bar of purchasing in terms of education, efficiency, and ethics.  Jennifer served on the Board of Directors of ISHP as Executive Vice President and Secretary. Mrs. Starck also served as a contributing member of the Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Consortium (HSPC), an organization that developed metrics to comprehensively measure and report on the corporate social responsibility, environmental, and product sustainability performance of hospitality manufacturers.  Jennifer has been quoted in Hospitality Design, Hotel Business Design, Hotel Design and The Denver Post.  Mrs. Starck has participated in roundtable and panel discussions for Hospitality Design, Hotel Business, Hotel Design and the Hunter Hotel Investment Conference.

 

Jennifer graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Interior Design.
